Admission to M.Sc. (Mathematics) Programme, NIT Manipur


Online applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to Full Time M. Sc. (Mathematics) Programme in NIT Manipur for 2020-21 session.



Candidates are advised to fill the application form and attach all the relevant documents in a pdf file. Thereafter the application form complete in all respects with all relevant documents should send via email to on or before 25-09-2020.



The completed application form must be accompanied by the following documents:

1. Latest colour passport photograph.

2. Photo ID proof as per Govt. of India norms.

3. Certificate of Date of Birth issued by competent authority or Class X (High School Board) Certificate as proof of date of birth.

4. Mark Sheet of Class XII.

5. Grade/Mark Sheets of qualifying degree examination for all semesters.

6. Degree / Provisional certificate of qualifying degree.

7. Certificate of Social Category (OBC/SC/ST), if applicable, as per Government of India, issued by the competent authority.

8. Migration Certificate


# Migration Certificate can be submitted before 20th October 2020.

Only the shortlisted students have to deposit the application fees through Demand Draft/online, the amounts and details of which will be intimated by 28th September 2020. 



4. Reservation for SC/ST/OBC is applicable as per Govt. of India rules. 



The candidates for M. Sc. Programme may be offered admission, based on certain minimum academic requirements to be satisfied by the candidates as given below:


Minimum eligibility criteria for admission to M.Sc. (Mathematics) programmes shall be as follows:

B.Sc.(10+2+3)/BS degree (Major/Honours) in Mathematics, with a minimum of 60% marks or 6.5 CPI in a 10-point scale (55% marks or 6.0 CPI in a 10- point scale for SC/ST/PD candidates) in major/honours only.


Candidates having B.Sc.(10+2+3) degree without (Major/Honours) in Mathematics, must have the concerned degree with Mathematics as a subject for two years/four semesters and (b) a minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CPI in a 10-point scale (55% marks or 6.0 CPI in a 10- point scale for SC/ST/PD candidates) in major/honours only.




All other cases, not covered in M.Sc. Ordinances shall be referred to the Senate. All disputes pertaining to the counselling and admission for the M.Sc. programme of NIT Manipur shall fall within the jurisdiction of Imphal, Manipur only.



Mere eligibility will not ensure a call for admission test and/or viva voce. Depending on the number of applications received and the eligibility, a shortlist shall be prepared for a call for admission test.


(i) The weightage will be totally based on written test examination/ examination & interview. In case of candidates scoring same marks, the Percentage of Marks / CGPA obtained in the last qualifying examination will be considered. 




Hostel accommodation may be allotted for the full-time students subject to availability. However, there is an acute shortage of hostel accommodation now.




Refund of fee due to the cancellation of admission will be made as per the rules of MHRD, Government of India and the Institute subject to submission of application with all relevant documents.
